Sir Neville Marriner for 90th birthday on April 15, 2014

The fact that age had nothing to do purely with the freshness of mind and body, proved recently Sir Neville Marriner during his concerts with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of the Städtischer Musikverein zu Düsseldorf to the strongest possible terms. Many before him have said and confirmed that music and the (serious) work with this "sacred art" a perpetual fountain of youth is: Great Conductors have this impressively demonstrated. Names such as Sir Adrian Boult, Karl Böhm, Eugen Jochum, Sir Malcolm Sargent, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Bernard Haitink and last but not least Sir Roger Norrington have always let amaze musicians and audiences.
